Initiation into the Sacred Feminine

Boozhoo aanii, Welcome in!

As we begin unraveling the story of the feminine, I’d like to center together and call in two of our sacred spaces. Let’s begin with the essence of our aliveness: our breath! Allow your focus to land on the cycling of your inhales and exhales. Place one hand on your heart and the other on your lower belly - if you cannot move your physical hands to these places then you can close your eyes and visualize your energetic hands there instead. Continue breathing and feel into your hands and where they landed. At first you might sense the physical areas of these spaces, then the energetic aspects will flow through, and if your body feels safe it may reveal some somatic properties that are held in these spaces.

One hand is aligned with your Heart: the space in which all energetic centers flow through, the throne of the Spirit, and guardian of desire. While your other hand is aligned with your creation space: the bowl of lifeforce, the sacred tomb, and the bringer of life.

Below your hands lies the blood memory of your mother and her mother. And within your grandmother once laid memories of your first and second great grandmothers. Ancestral wisdom and memories are waiting to be remembered and activated. Would you believe that within you - in your deepest psyche and creation space - are ancient spiritual infrastructures?

Since time immemorial our ancestors have been working with these spiritual infrastructures, embodying the characteristics and power of the Goddess to heal themselves and others, and align themselves to their greatest path. These infrastructures give us information through symbolism, somatic patterning, and spiritual teachings.

In my work with women in sacred space I have come to understand the power of the Goddess, “She of a thousand names”, in a new way. As women all over the world meet the Goddess in spiritual space, the Goddess appears to them in many forms, diverse in colour, symbolism, and meaning.

When a woman looks through a deck of Goddess cards, she will feel innate and intuitive attractions to different embodiments of the Sacred Feminine. She may not know why or she may be very aware of what activates her. These attractions and aversions are directly related to the archetypes and what medicine a person needs for their healing path.

At our Urban Retreat in August, we will be interacting with four major archetypes: the maiden, the mother, the enchantress, and the crone. I feel the blessing of my ancestors as I prepare the teachings for our time together. And I feel a certain sense of wonder that gathering together to learn these ways is a gift and one our ancestors were not always given.

May we gather,

Together we stand.

May we remember,

Teachings as ancient as the Land.

Join us August 12th and 13th for initiation into the Sacred Feminine!
